About Acnedox-LB Capsule

DOXYCYCLINE+LACTOBACILLUS belongs to a group of antibiotics used to treat bacterial infections such as chest, lung, nasal infections, urinary tract infections, eye infections, and sexually transmitted infections (like gonorrhea, syphilis, chlamydia), and malaria when chloroquine is not effective. Besides this, DOXYCYCLINE+LACTOBACILLUS also treats acne-like lesions caused by rosacea. However, it does not treat facial redness caused by rosacea.

DOXYCYCLINE+LACTOBACILLUS contains Doxycycline (antibiotic) and Lactobacillus (beneficial lactic acid-producing bacteria). Doxycycline prevents bacterial cells' growth by preventing the formation of the outer protein layer of bacteria (cell wall) responsible for bacteria's growth and multiplication. On the other hand, Lactobacillus is a beneficial lactic acid-producing bacteria (good bacteria) that supports the growth of friendly bacteria in the intestine, maintaining a healthy balance of microflora in the gut environment. Lactobacillus prevents diarrhea and loss of beneficial bacteria in the intestine lost due to a prolonged intake of DOXYCYCLINE+LACTOBACILLUS. Thus, together DOXYCYCLINE+LACTOBACILLUS helps in the prevention of infections.

Take DOXYCYCLINE+LACTOBACILLUS with or without food. The tablet form of DOXYCYCLINE+LACTOBACILLUS should be swallowed as a whole; do not crush or chew the tablet. The liquid form of DOXYCYCLINE+LACTOBACILLUS should be taken by mouth using the measuring cup provided by the pack; shake the pack well before each use. The dose and duration of DOXYCYCLINE+LACTOBACILLUS can vary depending upon your condition and the severity of the infection. It is also recommended to complete the course of medicine even if you feel better as it is an antibiotic. Leaving it in between may lead to even severe infection that will, in fact, stop responding to the antibiotic (antibiotic resistance). You may experience certain common side-effects such as nausea, vomiting, headache, and allergy in some cases. Most of these side effects do not require medical attention and will resolve gradually over time. However, you are advised to talk to your doctor if you experience these side effects persistently.

Before starting DOXYCYCLINE+LACTOBACILLUS, please inform your doctor if you have any allergies (against any antibiotic), or kidney or liver problems. Do not take DOXYCYCLINE+LACTOBACILLUS on your own as self-medication may lead to antibiotic resistance in which antibiotics fail to act against specific bacterial infections. Use sunscreen while going outside as DOXYCYCLINE+LACTOBACILLUS may cause photosensitivity. Avoid taking DOXYCYCLINE+LACTOBACILLUS if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Avoid alcohol consumption as it might decrease the effectiveness of DOXYCYCLINE+LACTOBACILLUS. DOXYCYCLINE+LACTOBACILLUS should not be given to children below 8 years as it might cause tooth discoloration. Inform your doctor about all the medicines you are taking and your health condition to rule out any unpleasant side effects.
